Driving at Night
Early in 2022 I visited the Grand Rapids Art Museum and saw several pieces from Night Coming Tenderly, Black by Dawoud Bey. Seeing those photographs planted a seed for me that working into the darker color family was an option, that it was not only about shedding light on something, but about communicating even that our human experiences include night, dusk, and somethings remain unseen but can be expressed.
