This past winter (2024-2025) felt very long. As the months passed I gathered impressions and feelings about each month, and sat down later to create my response. December, January and February each had their own flavor.

December felt snowy and stark. In January I noticed the record of attempts to drive safely. February felt almost hopeful, with more hints of deep colors.

The process drove this series of paintings. For each set, I pulled together a collection of canvas covered boards, and mixed up a big batch of one color at a time. I then sat and painted using mainly pallet knife to apply the paint to the boards.
